Mr. Baraki was born in Khalai Ahmad Khan Kabul Province in 1957. He started his schooling at the age of 7, at the same time he joined a wrestling club in Khalai Ahmad Khan. He was also a member of football club in his school. He has graduated his high school in 1976 and joined Physical education institute of Kabul. He joined Physical education institute’s Wrestling team as well as Floor hockey club in the institute. After his graduation Mr. Baraki was selected as a national team member of Afghanistan Hockey Team. He has participated in several National and international events. In the year 1977 he participated in Nehru Cup at India.

Due to war in Afghanistan he had to stay away from sports for almost five years..  He started sports coaching in several schools in the 1980s. Again, the war ruined Mr. Baraki’s sporting career and he had to move to Pakistan with his family, In Pakistan also he took up sports coaching in several schools as a volunteer coach. In 2002 he moved back to Afghanistan after which he started teaching in Bagrami high school as a sports teacher. He used to coach athletes in the field of Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Wrestling and Table tennis. In the year 2003 he joined Special Olympics Afghanistan.  He organized a training camp for 70 Special Olympics athletes at Khalia Ahmad khan and coached them in Athletics, Football, Volleyball, Bocce and Table Tennis.
In 2007 He went to Shanghai China, as a coach with the Special Olympics Afghanistan Delegation.

Mr. Baraki now works as the President of sports in Bagrami as well as he is the head of sports in Bagrami high school. He had been a Special Olympics Coach for over seven years now. In 2009 Mr. Baraki has organized Sports seminars, trained volunteers & athletes and provided great support to Special Olympics Athletes because of which he was named the Coach of the year for the year 2009. He feels very happy & relaxed to be a coach at Special Olympics Afghanistan
